Impact Evaluation of Increased Access to Improved Water Supply in Mozambique

Water points were installed in 600 rural communities across the provinces of Nampula and Cabo Delgado. The Rural Water Supply Activity (RWSA) of the Mozambique Compact is intended to increase sustainable access to improved water supply in some of the country’s poorest districts.

In collaboration with Virginia Tech and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Stanford is conducting an impact evaluation of the investments in the Nampula Province. The goal of the evaluation is to quantify the impacts of the rural water investment on time devoted to water collection, income generation/poverty, school enrollment, and, to the extent possible, health of households.
