Anvesh Badamikar

Anvesh recently graduated from the Engineer’s Degree program and is presently working under the mentorship of co-advisors Prof. Jenna Davis and Prof. Gary Darmstadt. His research primarily takes a qualitative approach, focusing on the political economy in Uttar Pradesh, India. Anvesh’s goal is to gain a deep understanding of the drivers of success or failures of WASH service delivery by comparing it with a positive deviant within the same context. His research study falls under Project WASH UP! India, a cluster Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) in primary government schools, with a specific emphasis on the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of a WASH service delivery model. Accumulating over a year’s worth of field experience in India, Anvesh has interacted with stakeholders at the school and village level, and engaged with government entities at the sub-district, district, and state levels, along with non-governmental local partners. His academic journey commenced with an undergraduate degree in civil engineering from Manipal University, situated in Southern India, and a master’s in civil and environmental engineering from Stanford University.
