Swati serves as project manager for WHD’s WASH UP! program in India. She is a development professional with over 6 years of experience in the environment sector focused on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Swati has engaged in projects addressing key issues around city sanitation services, drinking water supply, wastewater management and WASH in institutions at the grassroot level in urban and rural India. She has collaborated with state and local policymakers, civil society groups, academic institutions, and organizations addressing WASH challenges for the most vulnerable. Swati’s academic journey began with an undergraduate degree in biotechnology from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University in Northern India and a master’s degree in environmental technology from Doon University in Uttarakhand, India, where she was awarded the gold medal for securing top position in her batch.
