Michelle Horton is a communications manager at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment serving the Program on Water, Health and Development, Center for Ocean Solutions, and Water in the West.

Previously she managed communications for Stanford's Center on Food Security and the Environment, and served as a communications coordinator at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. She also has a background in the non-profit sector supporting environmental organizations including the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and Compton Foundation. Michelle holds a master’s degree in Interactive Environmental Journalism from the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno and a bachelor's degree in Ecology and Systematic Biology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
